Hello again!

I know…I have you all heading to your calendars trying to figure out what day it is. Well, it is December 26th. I promise that I tried to share my home tour (part 2) earlier but it didn’t happen. I’m just like you and have a list of things to do but just 24 hours in a day to get it all done. Obviously, it didn’t all get done at the Young house.

I shared my Holiday Home Tour 2020 earlier HERE. Today, I am going to show you a few other Christmas trees along with additional photos I did not share in the part 1.

This year, I was blessed to have my friend Shannon Jackson photograph my home for me. Most of the photos used are courtesy of Shannon. She is a talented photographer and it was a joy to have her spend the day with me taking photos, gossiping and just having fun. Some of the photographs are mine and you can easily tell her photos from mine. One of my 2021 goals is to improve my photography skills.

OK. I’ve talked enough. Roll those photos…..

Dining Room

I shared a few photos of my Dining Room Christmas Tree in part 1 but had a few more that I wanted to show you.

Mary’s Bedroom

On the first tour I focused on Mary’s newest tree, The Strawberry Tree. She has two additional full-sized trees on the other side of her room. The first tree has a mixture of her favorite ornaments that include cats and Disney’s Rapunzel. Her second tree is called The Dance Tree and features ballet themed ornaments.

Below is a mixture of photos throughout the house that just didn’t make it on the first tour.

Since it’s 2020 and nothing is going as planned, I hope that you will overlook my tardiness and just pretend you saw this several days ago. Admit it, we stopped keeping tract of days and times back in March!

I hope that you enjoyed a good Christmas! My family’s plans were different this year (as I am sure your Christmas was, too) and I had to choose not to go to my dad’s family’s Christmas Eve dinner that I had never missed in 49 years. We spent Christmas Eve watching home movies.

I guess if we’ve learned anything this year, it’s not what we endure, but our endurance that counts. Friends, we’ve come such a long way and I am looking forward to continuing this path forward. I am thankful for all of you and appreciate you including me in your journey. Thank you stopping by Mulch and Paint today and visiting with me!

Until next time,

Please PIN this for later! There’s only 364 days until Christmas 2021!

Let’s get started!

I have so much to share that it will take at least two days. Today is Part 1.

Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Kristi and I live in North Georgia. I am a full-time Realtor, lover of crafts, a hoarder of items that will be used for future crafting projects and a homebody. I have been married to Donnie for 30 years and have three wonderful children and a new daughter-in-law.

My Christmas decorating style is defined as anything Christmas that I like and makes me smile. I don’t decorate the same from year to year and I have a terrible ornament collecting problem….so I put a lot of emphasis on decorating trees. Honestly, I just did a mental count of the full-sized trees in my house and I think we’re at 13. I looooove color (with orange being my #1) and try to make each room it’s own without sticking to one theme or color scheme for the entire house.

I am going to try to keep my narrative brief and just let you mingle around my house at your own leisure!

Welcome to our home!

FOYER

The first tree you’ll see as you walk in the front door is The Butterfly Tree.

This little tree had humble beginnings with a three foot tree and some colorful butterflies placed on it several years ago. Now, she has grown up and is one of my favorite trees.

This tree took many hours to decorate. I appreciate my daughter, Mary, and daughter in law, Kaytlen, for helping!

LIVING ROOM

From the foyer, we walk into the Living Room. My home is a 1940’s colonial and is very traditional. Recently, I have started updating this room with a lighter paint color, new curtains and a very bright pink velvet sofa. I hope to complete the updates in 2021. The Livingroom Christmas Tree holds ornaments I’ve collected through the years. Most are gold, glass and red.

I bought this gold Christmas village at Target last year. I added some of my collection as well as made the ribbon trees. I plan to share how those were made this week.

I have already shared how I made this quick and inexpensive sign to go above my piano. If you’d like to see the tutorial, click HERE.

You can see my Nature Tree located in the Sunroom from the Living Room Tree. (I’m saving that tree for Part 2.)

DINING ROOM

The Dining Room Tree has been totally transformed from year’s past. This tree is usually our Family Tree with all of the kid’s ornaments. The kids have given me special permission this year to decorate the Dining Room differently. I chose a gold, pale aqua blue and white color scheme.

For inexpensive ornaments, I cut angels wings from Christmas music and took store bought wooden stars and glitter-fied them for sparkle.

I made a winter theme in coordinating colors on the top of my china cabinet.

I made a simple centerpiece on the table with candles, a small vase of fresh greenery with tulips and fresh greenery placed on a gold tray. We use our dining room table almost daily so I kept it easy to move things around.

KITCHEN

The Kitchen is simply decorated with fresh greenery and gingerbread themed items.

I shared how I made this simple Gingerbread House Tree Collar HERE if you’d like to see the full tutorial.

I also gave a quick and easy tutorial for making your own wooden hanger like I used to display my gingerbread houses. You can see it HERE.

MASTER BEDROOM

The master bedroom is my favorite room in the house and has my favorite tree! I named it My Tree. Everything that I am is in this tree. I gave a more thorough tour of My Tree HERE.

I printed black and white photos of my family and placed them in small painted frames. The large white snowflakes came from Dollar Tree. I lightly sprayed the edges with rose gold spray paint to give them a little pop. Most of the ornaments on My Tree were inexpensively made or came from thrift stores and the Dollar Tree. Christmas decor (or at least my Christmas decor) does not have to be expensive.

Photos of my kids and a pillow that says Blessed…yep, that about sums it up.

LOFT

The loft holds one of my favorite trees…Harry Potter! Mary and I have made many of the Harry Potter Tree ornaments and it’s the first tree to be decorated each year. We try to have it up in September.

Like my mug shot? The wanted posters are just one of the many projects we did for this tree. Want to see more? Click HERE.

MARY’S BEDROOM

This is our last stop for the day. I have so much more to share (and more trees!) and will in the next day or so.

This is my daughter Mary’s bedroom. We have been redecorating her room for several years. She has three full-sized white trees in her room along with a smaller Nutcracker Tree on her dresser.

I shared her new tree, The Strawberry Tree, HERE.

There is not many strawberry themed Christmas decorations out there…so we’re starting from scratch on this one and trying to be creative. I hope to expand on The Strawberry Tree next year.

This is where I will stop the tour for today! Please visit daily until Christmas since I am adding fresh ideas and crafts right up until Christmas!

I want to wish you and your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS from my home to yours! Thank you for stopping by Mulch and Paint!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
