Fall Wreaths

It’s Still Fall, Y’all!

I know we’re all experiencing split-holiday personalities right now.  Walking in my foyer are traces of black and orange from Halloween.  My lunchroom is all-out Fall.  Christmas trees light up the windows upstairs in my house.  I should throw an Easter Bunny somewhere in my house right now for good measure just to add to the chaos.

As I am writing this, it is Veteran’s Day and I do have my American flag flying at the front door.  I try to keep my flag up most of the time–but it does take on more meaning on days like today when we stop to reflect on all of the men and women who have served and are still serving our country to keep us safe and protect our freedoms.  Thank you all.

I have a confession to make….I have recently started designing wreaths and have been selling them in a wonderful shop in Hoschton, Georgia.  The shop, Simply Southern Market, features many local artisans with a lot of one-of-a-kind items.  The owner, Tabitha, has been great to work with and has helped me become more confident in myself and my creations.  These photos were taken by Tabitha at her shop.  (I took photos for this blog but liked her photos better!)

I wanted to share some of the Fall wreaths I made for sale.  I hope these inspire you to try something different that doesn’t necessarily fit into the current trends.  I don’t want to look just like everyone else.

Remember that Fall is also football season.  Here’s my Georgia Bulldogs wreath that I named “Between the Hedges”.  If you want to show your team spirit, by all means, get you a wreath and hang up a flag to support your team no matter what time of the year it is!  (I usually have my Atlanta Falcons wreath on my front door.)

I guess my point is that you just be you and don’t let the current trends dictate everything you do.  Your home is to be a reflection of you and what makes you happy.  Don’t try to fit inside a box.  If we all do, say, dress, decorate and live the same way then it all becomes vanilla.  Vanilla is good but throw some nuts in there and be different.
